Our student population is very multicultural with students from over 50 countries worldwide. Currently, we have 16,000 full-time students on campus in programs in the areas of Business, Advanced Technology, Hospitality and Tourism, Media Arts and Design, Health and Community Studies, and Transportation and Trades.

Algonquin programs focus on both theory and applied studies, and we work closely with local industry experts to ensure that our curriculum meets the needs of employers. Several programs offer students the opportunity to complete co-op work placements with our industry partners or field work placements with local agencies and organizations.
Study in Ottawa, Canada's Capital, the fourth largest city in Canada with over 1,800 private advanced technology companies. Ottawa is popularly known as "Silicon Valley North" and Algonquin students have the opportunity to complete internships with companies in Ottawa leading to post-graduate employment opportunities. Graduates of two year diplomas may apply for two year work permits in their field of study. Algonquin students enjoy an excellent living environment with three on-campus student residences, 24/7 Computer Access Labs, a gymnasium, Fitness Centre, and several student clubs and competitive sports.

Academic programs are offered within the following faculties: Advanced Technology, Business, Health Sciences, Community Studies, Hospitality and Tourism, Media and Design, Police and Public Safety Institute, Transportation and Building Trades, and the Algonquin Language Institute.
The Language Institute accepts students year round who desire to prepare for college admission. The College can make provisional offers of admission for students planning to study in the Language Institute. Algonquin College has the widest range of courses of any college in Ontario, Canada and provides customized training programs to business and industry. The College's Programs and services are geared to providing the essential skills for today's workplace and are always updated to ensure that they are relevant for the future. The college's mission is to offer high quality, career-oriented education and training, which respond to the needs of learners, to the community and to society. The creative skills taught are complemented by universal education courses which give graduates an understanding of the social, economic, cultural, and political contexts in which the students will work thereafter.
